About Barbara

Barbara is an accredited mental health Social Worker and registered Counsellor and Play Therapist, with bachelor degrees in Social Work, and Health Sciences & Social Services, both majoring in Psychology. In addition, she has advanced certificates in Play Therapy and Sandtray Therapy.

As a mental health professional, she is recognised by the Australian Association of Social Workers, the Australian Counselling Association, and the Australian Play Therapists Association, and is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (Level 3), and the Association for Play Therapy USA.

Barbara is a highly skilled Psychotherapist, with extensive experience in child, adult and family counselling, attained in private practice and not-for-profit organisations. She specialises in child development and child-related issues due to relationship breakdowns, trauma, anxiety, and anti-social behaviour. She employs a Child-Centered modality which focuses on developing the child’s full potential as a person, rather than only addressing current difficulties.

About our Rooms

Conveniently located in Woombye, on Queensland's Sunshine Coast, and central to a number of local schools, our well-equipped and air-conditioned rooms provide a safe, comforting, and enjoyable place for your child to visit.

Designated indoor and outdoor areas cater for Play and Sandtray therapy activities, and a private consulting office is used for counselling and parent feedback sessions.

There is plenty of off-street parking and a seperate office entrance to maintain client confidentiality.
